Methadone Metabolism
    Depending on genetic factors, people can metabolize methadone either unusually slowly or extremely rapidly. These factors can be very relevant in, for instance, drug monitoring programs using urinalysis to verify the presence of prescribed drugs.     The bisphosphonates are a class of drugs usually prescribed to treat osteoporosis. Since long-term CRPS can cause loss of bone mass, in a process very similar to that of standard age-related osteoporosis, these drugs are commonly prescribed for older CRPS patients, many women, and any others for whom bone demineralization is more likely than usual, for a variety of reasons.
