Prescription drugs are extremely expensive, especially in this country, where prices are higher than most of the rest of the world. Those without very good health insurance can find the cost of medications to be overwhelming, especially for chronic conditions like RSD. Fortunately, there is an ever-increasing number of foundations, government-funded plans, and especially drug company-funded programs that can bring down the cost of prescription medicines drastically, often with the patient paying nothing.

Benefits Checkup BenefitsCheckUp is free service of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a nonprofit service and advocacy organization in Washington, DC. Many adults over 55 need help paying for prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other basic needs.
